Lots of men have at least some idea that they need to take care of their skin. But in the Western world, most guys are about as comfortable discussing skin care or seeming concerned about looking good as they are with holding a woman’s purse while she shops. This aversion doesn’t change the fact that, just like women, most men need help to take the best care of their skin—they absolutely shouldn’t ignore skin care.
While there are many product lines aimed at men, more often than not those products are poorly formulated, and that’s a serious problem. It’s not that products aimed at women aren’t often badly formulated, but this is far more true for men’s products than those packaged for women. These badly-formulated men’s products can hurt skin or make skin-care concerns (red bumps, razor burn, breakouts, oily skin, dry skin and on and on) worse.
