Black-Owned Nail Polish Companies To Consider

Posted on

Women spend nearly $1 billion dollars annually on nail polish, and one survey revealed that 33% of women own at least 25 bottles of nail polish. The industry consists of many trends including sand polish, matte finishes, at-home gel, polishes that look like gels, and even gel stickers.

More women are opting to maintian their own nails thanks to the advent of at home gel nail polishes and lamps.

African American women are by far the majority consumers in this industry, and it is no surprise that several nail polish companies are…Black-owned.

Below are some of the popular Black-owned nail polish brands:

#1 – Adore Her Nails by Devorne Love.

#2 – Polish and Company by Theresa Williamson.

#3 – Underground Nail Queenz (UGNQ) by Jacklyn Berry.

#4 – Ginger + Liz by Ginger Johnson and Liz Pickett.

#5 – Bernadette Thompson Nail Care and Color by Bernadette Thompson.

#6 – Lisi Cosmetics by Lisa Hill.

What does this mean in the grand scheme?  If consumers make a concerted effort to support women and other minority- owned brands and products, the industry will respond  accordingly; providing greater visibility and access to under-represented demographics in the cosmetics market.
